Senior Substation Operations Supervisor

Southern California Edison's (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 15 million residents via SCE's 5 million customer accounts.   Position Overview This position will be in Farmersville within Southern California Edison's (SCE) Transmission & Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D). The successful candidate will supervise a highly specialized workforce that performs routine and emergency operations of the SCE electrical system. This includes coaching, mentoring, development, responding to grievances, assigning training, supporting change initiatives, and ensuring safety compliance.   Typical Responsibilities: Responsible for the administration of human resources policies and programs for the selection of personnel, performance management, and discipline of bargaining unit personnel. Be accountable for the coordination and development of construction programs and detailed switching procedures to accommodate system configuration changes. Supervise the inspection of substation properties/facilities for safety, system integrity and environmental compliance. Participate in investigations of equipment failures and performance errors. Ensure the monthly inspection of facilities to confirm appropriate operation of equipment that system requirements for all the mandated legal and environmental regulations are followed and all findings are properly communicated to the responsible party. Review and monitor switching center budgets; ensure development and maintenance of all station documentation and required permits; and represent the organization during internal/external facility audits. Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices. Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned. Qualifications  Minimum Qualifications Must have a minimum of five years of experience in grid or substation operations. Must have four years supervisory and/or team leadership experience. Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License. Desired Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience with substation computer applications, including EMS, OMS, DCMS, OMS, and SAP preferred. Demonstrated experience with substation equipment and operation policies, practices, and procedures. Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and mentor employees to achieve maximum performance. Demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills for building team relationships, resolving conflicts, and interacting with internal and external organizations. Demonstrated ability to work on several projects concurrently in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision, as well as ability to research technical/operating data and perform sophisticated analyses. Knowledge of SCE power system design and operation. Knowledge of corporate/departmental policies and procedures, including safety/environmental rules and regulations, the IBEW contract, and in developing and administering function and capital budgets at the crew level. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
